In 1968 he received his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.M.A.S.) from Pune University and in 1980 a Master of Ayurvedic Science (M.A.Sc.) degree in Pune, India. He worked for three years as Medical Director at the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune.
