Shakti Mat - a guide to relaxation and health
Shakti Mat - where it all began
The Shakti Mat is "in," no question. When used regularly and correctly, it can work small miracles. It's available commercially as both an acupressure and an acupuncture mat. For simplicity, the term "acupressure mat" will be used in this article.
We all know today that conventional medicine isn't the ultimate wisdom. Suppressing symptoms doesn't change the cause of the illness—regardless of whether the disorder is physical or mental. We're increasingly returning to traditional approaches that have long been established.
This acupressure technique, which has its origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), releases and activates blocked energy (Qi; also known as Chi) throughout the body. The results are quickly noticeable: pain relief and relaxation.
Acupuncture/acupressure has been helping people relax and rejuvenate for centuries, especially in Asia. There, people recognized the importance of inner balance and improving or maintaining health from an early stage.
Fortunately, today we are increasingly turning to the ancient knowledge of acupressure and achieving astonishing results.
What does a Shakti mat do?
The Shakti Mat is a type of nail mat, featuring pointed, hard plastic nubs. When you lie on it, the pressure is distributed across these many small spikes, which in turn stimulate the skin and underlying tissue. This stimulation also reaches the organ and nervous systems along the meridians.
With regular use, the mat ultimately delivers a host of benefits. It helps improve energy, relieve pain, and promote relaxation and all-important healthy sleep.
The acupressure mat is promising if it is not exclusively responsible for relaxation, especially in the case of the following disorders and illnesses:
- Headaches/migraines
- Neck/back pain
- Sciatica pain in the leg/back
- Pain in fibromyalgia
- stress-related disorders
- Sleep disorders
- general tension
Endorphins (happy hormones) are also released in increased amounts, which, among other things, spread their beneficial effects like the body's own painkillers – entirely without artificial chemicals. As a result, your energy levels can also improve, and your body begins to heal. And: People who are relaxed live more consciously and are less susceptible to illness of all kinds.

Shakti Mat - Your Applications
Depending on the desired effect, you can use the Shakti Mat in a variety of ways. The classic: lie on your back on the acupressure mat for 20-30 minutes and relax. You can either enjoy the silence or listen to wonderful music or a podcast.
Your feet and the associated nerve pathways also benefit from standing on the mat (approx. 5 minutes) or walking on it (keyword: foot reflexology massage). However, the latter requires careful practice, otherwise it can be somewhat painful.
To treat cellulite (“orange peel skin”), simply use the Shakti mat as a seat on the chair.
Some mats are equipped with an additional neck support, which additionally stimulates the neck and the back of the head when lying down.
If you work a lot on the computer, your hands and arms are subject to a lot of strain. Simply lie on your stomach in front of the Shakti mat and rest your forearms and hands on it (approximately 15 minutes). This will prevent numbness and provide a sense of lightness in your forearms and hands.
The acupressure mat is also helpful for feelings of tightness and digestive problems. To do this, lie with your stomach and/or chest on the prickly mat (approximately 10 minutes). You'll soon feel relaxation spreading throughout your chest, or you'll find the necessary relief plus a pleasant feeling of warmth for digestive problems.
There are many possible applications.
Important : Pregnant women should avoid using this device, as certain acupressure points can induce premature labor. However, it's safe to use during and after childbirth.
Shakti Mat - in the end you can no longer do without
Once you've experienced the numerous positive effects of the Shakti Mat, you'll soon find yourself wanting to do without it. Especially in today's hectic, stressful world, health and relaxation are more important than ever. A simple training device like the ingenious invention of the acupressure mat provides quick and uncomplicated relief. However, you should ensure regular use.
We at Ayurveda Paradise have recognized its tremendous value for our customers' health and have included the Shakti mat in our program. We do this with great conviction and eagerly await your feedback.
The Shakti mat is usually available with 4,000, 6,000, or 8,000 points. The more points, the more evenly distributed the pressure. Fewer points are better suited for those who are already experienced, as their bodies are more attuned to self-acupressure. The happy medium works for everyone, which is why you can currently find mats in our shop in various lengths and colors, each with 6,000 points. We don't want to hide the fact that our Shakit mats are handmade from organic cotton in a charity workshop in Varanasi, India. The points are made of durable and recyclable ABS plastic. This is a joy to work with.
