Chili ground by Classic Ayurveda: According to Ayurvedic teachings, chili has a warming, spicy effect and is dry, light and pointed. Chili increases the Pitta Dosha and should therefore be avoided by Pitta types and even in summer when temperatures are very warm.
Vata, on the other hand, can be reduced with a small amount of chili. However, higher amounts of chili increase Vata and unbalance Vata constitutions. Chili is an ideal spice for Kapha types. Make sure you can tolerate chili. If your body reacts unfavorably to chili, it's better to leave it out. There are Kapha types - or mixed constitutions - who cannot tolerate chili because it is too hot and they have a sensitive stomach. Here too, avoid other Kapha-reducing spices and dishes.
Perhaps you know the active ingredient capsaicin, which is often used for all kinds of pain. Capsaicin is spicy and stimulates heat production in the body. Due to the increase in body temperature, the organism forms sweat on the skin. The energy that is created in the body is generated from the burning of fat and therefore chilli is a "fat burner" par excellence!
