The Neem soap for every bathroom

Although the Neem tree has been scientifically studied for decades, most of its active ingredients have still not been fully researched. The most important ingredients include the antioxidant quercetin and the antiviral limonoids nimbin, nimbidin and azadirachtin, which are responsible for a strong bitter taste. The substance azadirachtin was first isolated from the seeds of the neem tree in 1968. It is the main component of neem oil. It took 22 years of research for British scientists from the University of Cambridge to produce the complex substance synthetically. Azadirachtin serves to protect the neem tree from infestation by harmful insects and is therefore also important as a biological insecticide. According to estimates, the neem tree contains a total of more than 100 different active ingredients, which are present in different combinations depending on the respective part of the plant.
