When searching for Brahmi in the very old Ayurvedic traditions, you come across two plants, both of which are traditionally used in a similar way according to Ayurveda. Accordingly, when buying Brahmi, you cannot always be sure which of the two plants you are getting. Only the scientific name provides information about which herb it actually is. Bacopa monnieri, which we offer you here, or Centella asiatica.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, a distinction must be made between the two plants mentioned, Bacoopa monnieri and Centella asiatica. Because Bacopa monnieri is cold and bitter in quality, while Centella asiatica is sweet and heavy. In Ayurveda, Bacopa monnieri is described as the stronger Brahmi. In addition to Brahmi, there are also other names for Bacopa monnieri that provide information about the importance of the plant in Ayurveda. Sarasvati, the goddess of wisdom, and Medhya, clever or wise.
