What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda - what is it actually? Isn't it an ancient healing art that comes from India? Is Ayurveda still relevant today? How can I benefit from Ayurveda? If you have had little to do with Ayurveda up to now, then you are invited to take this short excursion.

Holistically healthy

By HOLISTIC we mean in Ayurveda 'In his entirety, man is the unity of body, soul and spirit, ideals, values and experience of meaning, relationships to his social, natural and artificial environment as well as his way of life'.
In fact, Ayurveda has a more than 5,000 years of healing knowledge While conventional medicine focuses entirely on the illness or the symptom, Ayurveda takes the whole person into account (holistic). Everyone needs an individually tailored treatment plan. The Ayurvedic concept can be summed up in a few words:

Live healthily and heal gently. Ayurveda is the medicine of the future.

Small introduction with big impact

Ayurveda is a science , which focuses on healthy living and longevity. Under this umbrella, the areas Nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, relaxation, sleep, meditation, breathing exercises, medicinal herbs and cleansing/rejuvenation measures .

The so-called universal energies are described by the five elements space (also called ether), air, fire, water and earth. In Ayurvedic teachings, it is assumed that a person has an innate, precise constitution, the so-called doshas :

•    Vata (energies: ether and air) - stands for movement
•    Pitta (energies: fire and water) - represents the transformation of matter into energy (ie digestion and metabolism)
•    Kapha (energies of water and earth) - stands for firmness and structure

In fact, this particular constitution is already determined at conception. In modern science, this is referred to as the "genetic code" or "blueprint". At birth, a person brings new, unique physical, mental and emotional dispositions and characteristics into the world.

Health and energy are there - from the beginning. But increasing age, lack of sleep, stress, experiences, feelings, the seasons, the environment, the fast pace of life as well as the quantity and quality of the food consumed and much more have made us what we are today.

Are you one of those energetic people who enjoy robust health? Then congratulations! You have probably done everything right so far. However, for a large number of people this is not the case. Here the Ayurveda helping and healing intervene. That is the key word for us at Ayurveda Paradise.

Your companion towards health

But where exactly in Ayurveda lies the fascination for people in the West? Is it India - the land of colors? Elephants, incense sticks and gurus? Or is it the repeatedly invoked millennia-old tradition in Ayurveda?
But doesn't the West pride itself on its advanced medicine and science? During the 300-year colonial period, the British even banned the practice of Ayurveda and, as compensation, introduced the railway, whiskey, the English language and Western medicine. Thank you that Ayurveda has survived in people’s minds!

Well, if we look at it objectively, the search for the meaning of life, which preoccupies people in the "wealthy" part of the world so much for a variety of reasons, probably also plays a role.

And the loss of trust - trust in medicine, in the food industry, in politics. But maybe it is just the vague feeling deep inside us that tells us: " Something is wrong here - or better - something is missing! ".

Yes - there are people who have not forgotten how to to listen to their inner voice . And who have an inkling that nothing concerning our existence can be considered in isolation, since everything is naturally interconnected.

Ayurveda is a holistic system that affects all areas of life and connects all areas of life with one another. As a result, the understanding of illness also differs from the Western view.

With this in mind, we created Ayurveda Paradise. The result: an online shop for Ayurveda products with relevant background information.

The distribution of effective and high-quality extracts and essences is very important to us. But education on the subject is also necessary. responsibility for one's health takes over, gets smart. With the Ayurveda Magazine we hit the mark for all interested parties.
